Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) was established in 1969 in Penang and is one of Malaysia’s premier research-intensive universities. USM is the only university in Malaysia awarded APEX (Accelerated Programme for Excellence) status by the Ministry of Higher Education.
USM operates with a unique school-based system rather than faculties, offering over 160 programs across 26 schools. The university has three campuses: the main campus in Gelugor, the engineering campus in Nibong Tebal, and the health campus in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.
